Position: Business Objects Technical Specialist    

Position Type: Contract to Hire

Job Description :

Business Objects role is to provide security management, content life cycle management, and BOE XI system stability and architecture.  Enhancing, administering, maintaining and evolving the Business Objects XI Enterprise.
  • Designs the Business Objects Enterprise Architecture, meeting all DSS architecture/infrastructure, high-availability (SLA), disaster recovery, security corporate standards, clustering, fault-tolerance, fail over strategies, etc. 
  • Implement, maintain, and evolve the Business Objects Enterprise Architecture across all aspects of BI solutions development lifecycle.
  • Defines and documents the technical architecture of the BOE XI platform, including the physical components and their functionality.
  • Enterprise Product(s) installation, settings, tunings, configuration, best practices implementation. Evaluates, selects, tests, and assists in the optimization of hardware and resolves technical, functional, and performance related issues
  • Provide information to management on emerging BO technologies

Skills and Experience:

  • An expert understanding in low level BO XI system architecture and service communication; includes the ability to architect the system for failover and scalability based on business requirements, use cases, and usage estimates
  • Proficient in OS-level administration as it pertains to configuring and tuning the XI systems and services.
  • An expert understanding in use of the Metadata Manager and Audit tools.
  • An expert understanding in BOE XI tool trouble shooting and tuning.
  • An expert understanding in the BOE XI Security model from design, to implementation to growth.
  • Advanced knowledge of the enterprise standard network, application, and security approaches and methods.
  • Specifically for XI, expert in designing and modeling user security in the BOE XI application, app server security, and web server security.
  • Specific experience with installation/configuration/implementation and support in a Windows environment (NT, 2003), Java/WebSphere, and SQL Server 2005.

Job Description :

The Java developer will be involved with all aspects of implementing the Java based web application solution from developing locally on one’s local workspace (IDE) to assisting in the building and deploying of code to the application server in all environments (development, test and production).

Job Description :

To provide Java Architecture leadership to complete the design and build / delivery phases of the web application.   The architect will also assist in setting up the framework required to support Java based web applications such as modeling a database solution, designing a security solution, version control solution, proper build and deploy solution, etc. The Java Architect will assign tasks and responsibilities and help with the integration of various groups (Developers, Database Administrators, Network Administrators and Security Administrators) that will be involved with the building and maintaining of a multi-tiered application.

Skills and Experience:

Conducting activities to reduce the elapsed time required to run the PeopleSoft (PS) Accounts Payable (AP) batch processes. These activities include implementing vanilla parallel processing capability and identifying opportunities to improve performance of problematic batch processes.

Job Description:

  • Participate in application design and unit test design review meetings with developers and clients in order to better understand the product and identify test requirements and test coverage;
  • Develop the test plan under the guidance of Test Team Lead;
  • Develop test designs (including test cases with expected results and effort estimates) from project requirements and design documentation;
  • Create test data;
  • Conduct integration and system tests of the application, execute tests and report on the results;
  • Migrate code to test environments;
  • Participate in defect review meetings with developers and clients;
  • Perform trouble-shooting of application installations.
